Defoaming solutions for daily chemical washing industry

Causes of foaming: emulsion system, high foaming surfactant, cleaning process.

The main detergency of washing liquid is anionic surfactant and some non-ionic surfactant.These surfactants have good permeability,and have good performance for deep washing of fibers.But the disadvantage is that they are easy to generate foam and are more obvious for barrel washing machine.

Adverse consequences:low washing efficiency,increased rinsing times and waste of water and electricity

Defoamer selection and solution:

①Silicone oil defoaming agent:Silicone oil defoaming agent has good defoaming and anti-foaming performance.It can play a defoaming effect when the amount of addition is very small,but in the general formula of daily chemicals,it will cause oil drift or precipitation,that affects the transparency of products.

②Polyether modified silicone fluid:The solution to the insoluble problem of defoamers is to introduce polyether segments into the polysiloxane chain through block copolymerization or graft copolymerization,so as to increase the hydrophilicity of polysiloxane and make it self emulsifying.This kind of defoamers have good water solubility and reduce the defoaming effect.

③Polyether defoamer:Polyether is a nonionic surfactant,and its solubility has temperature inversion.That is, it is soluble in water, colorless and transparent at low temperature,and When the temperature rises to the cloud point,it is basically insoluble in water and exists in water in the form of small oil droplets.When the polyether is near and above the cloud point,it has good anti-foaming and defoaming properties.Some polyether defoamers with good solubility at room temperature and precipitation at high temperature can be recommended for detergent customers used in high temperature  (but many substances in detergent can improve the cloud point, and the cloud point test of pure aqueous solution can only be used as a reference)

Polyether defoamers generally have poor defoaming ability against surfactants at room temperature.
